Am I the only one who DOESN'T hate watch things?

(Anonymous) 2016-10-01 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Life is too short to waste it on watching TV shows I don't enjoy.

No, you're not the only one.

No, but sometimes I get tricked into watching bad shows and realize it halfway through.

^Relevant.

Also sometimes it just GETS BAD halfway through and you keep watching out of a bizarre, horrible sense of completionism.

Or a sense of probably misplaced hope that it might go back to not being bad again, if you just keep watching.

Apparently one of the only times I stopped watching something because of badness (The Walking Dead) it did go back to being good.

And then went straight back to being bad? idk I barely keep up with it so I'm not sure how true that statement is.

This is my life, though I have on occasion learned to let a show go. (Granted, most the ones I've 'let go' aren't finished yet, and I kind of live with the thought that, "Maybe I'll complete it anyway once it ends", but still. Not watching them live, anymore!)

I don't, the moment I realise that I'm no longer enjoying something I stop watching it. I don't derive any entertainment from being angry at a show every week.

I think it's fun to hate watch movies every so often, but following a TV show I hate week after week would drive me insane.

No, and I don't understand why people do that either.

Nope, I don't hatewatch, don't hateread,

Like, I do like some things 'for the luls" (like Twilight) butI honestly come out having fun (just not necessarily the intended way).

Nah, I can't even be bothered to watch movies/shows with actors I really like if the genre/the plot doesn't interest me. So hate-watching stuff sounds even more like a waste of time and energy.

I don't think I have ever hate watched something. I sometimes watch movies I know I won't like for a podcast but no hate involved.

I get enjoyment out of hate watching stuff especially if I'm doing it with other people, so I don't really consider it a waste of time.

Re: Am I the only one who DOESN'T hate watch things?

(Anonymous) 2016-10-02 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. I don't get the point of that, either.

(And then some of the same people who hate watch shows complain about how that show's still on or shows similar to it are still being made. Well, yeah...'cause people like you are watching them. Networks don't really know or care about specific reasons WHY people watch a show, all they know and care about is the fact that people are watching, period, and bringing money and attention to the network.)

I don't even have the time and energy to watch all things I like.

I don't intentionally, but I've given some things a solid go because other people liked it or it was recommended or whatever and I can't say I particularly enjoyed it.

Tv shows I can at least just drop (it "get's better" isn't a good enough reason for me to continue. I can give one or two episodes a pass, but consistently shitty start to a season? nope).

Movies I tend to be stuck with, because I'm already halfway through when at the end of my tether.

I don't. Seems a really dumb thing to do.

I don't think I've ever hate watched anything. I just don't get the compulsion.

Sometimes I meh watch.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-02 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
When there's nothing better on, but I need some background noise, but it's not something I actively hate, you know, something I can take or leave.

Also, when I hit those filler episodes in something I've been watching for a while, I'll still watch and maybe get some enjoyment out of seeing characters I like, but for the most part, those are not that enjoyable.
