I like anything that doesn't actually taste like alcohol. But I don't think beer can't taste like beer.

Yep. I have only one example, of a beer that was so bitter it drowned out all the rest, and that was not a pleasant taste at all. (I couldn't finish drinking it, so I used it for muffin batter instead.)

I tried an apple beer once that tasted like apple cider, but had the "texture" of beer, if that makes sence. It was a weird experience. Unfortunatly, I don't remember the name.
