Nowadays, two years into my phd, I do very little to partake in fandom other than read and enjoy and comment fic; and make fan mixes. Whether you share then or not, music can empty emotions and actions so strongly. Nothing to be embarrassed about - everyone loves music! Revel in it op :P

I used to love making fanmixes. But since putting them on 8Tracks instead of making zips became the thing, and since 8track started restricting what you could put on mixes and even deleting tracks, it lost the appeal for me.

I use Spotify personally - it isn't perfect, but it's less confusing than 8tracks and has a larger library of music.

Hmmm. Maybe I will try that. I just really miss the days of downloadable fanmixes.

Agreed, I've seen some fanmixes that just link to YouTube videos of the songs, even. I miss the days you could download the whole mix.

Why not tho? You're not obligated to make anything unless you're paid, so you should spend time making what makes you happy and what you find rewarding.
