CBS All Access vs Chromecast vs Amazon Fire Stick

(Anonymous) 2016-10-02 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been watching MacGyver on CBS's website, and it's really choppy. In some cases I may as well be looking at a series of stills while the audio plays in the background. So, for that reason and some other All Access only shows, I'm thinking about getting that. Is there some reason the playback would be better/worse that way versus free streaming?

But I'm also looking into Chromecast and Firestick so I don't have to turn on game consoles to watch things on TV. I'm leaning more toward Fire Stick, because it's all integrated and more easily gets me to Prime stuff, but if anyone has an argument one way or the other, I'd love to hear it.

I should note that my shitty MacGyver experience is on my kind of shitty laptop, not via console or anything else.

Chromecast is totally fine for streaming Netflix off my laptop and Hulu, Amazon, Netflix and Youtube off my phone

I don't think it could do anything else effectively but IDK

I have a firestick and I love it. I use it for Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO Go, and playing some party games. It can do all kinds of other stuff too but those are the things I focus on.

I have 2 firesticks. Got the cheap deal when they first launched and just upgraded to a newer one and stuck the other on another TV.

The firestick/fire tv is the absolutely best way to watch prime stuff. The UI is a ton better than pc or ps4 is. To even get prime stuff on the chromecast is a pain in the ass since amazon doesn't officially support it.

SA

Also my internet is kinda meh and the only problem I've ever had streaming is livestreams stuttering sometimes. Like Twitch & MLBTV

Thanks guys! Sounds like the fire stick might be best for me. My bro and SIL are 'll hopped up n the Chromecast and being able to mirror their phones and laptop. But I think I can still get YouTube, and I just don't have any need to put my Facebook feed or photo gallery on 36 inches.
