Re: Vacation destinations that should have been awesome

All the times I've gone (to Disneyland and CA Adventure), it's been with my family (one of which cannot ride anything for health reasons, everyone else has stomach issues so no nausea-inducing rides) and each time I've loved it. We only ride the really relaxing, less-popular rides, attend the shows, and take advantage of any really interesting things we find (like the tortilla "factory" tour with free samples at the end), and by the end of the day we're not exhausted, just a little tired.

The people you go with really affect how much you enjoy the trip. If I went with coasterheads I'd probably be really sour halfway through the day.

AYRT - And see, I had some physical/health issues as a kid, so we always took the easier way as well. So in fairness to the coasterheads, I wasn't really prepared for the twelve hour version, because I didn't even realize that was the norm for some people given my experience with the opposite. Now when I make plans I always establish limits.
