*Rolls eyes into the back of my goddamn head*
So if it all takes place on this tiny fucking island, how is it relevant to the discussion that it's off the coast of Wales and not Sri Lanka? And if the main characters are taken from all over the world, why cast all of them with white kids? And if you're arguing that they have to stay accurate to the book, why did they change the girl's power?
(Because, I don't know about you, but I'm a lot more likely to care if a superpowered character has the right superpower than the right amount of melanin)

Good for you, people who aren't you have different priorities.

Lol you are all over this thread just caring so much about this and being so butthurt, it's kind of funny.

Take your own advice. People who aren't you have different priorities, and they're allowed to talk about it without the usual uninspired, uneducated "BUT IT WAS WHITEY MCWHITE LAND BACK THEN" fools coming out of the woodwork to get triggered that people are talking about the lack of diversity in media.

So first your argument is that it's not historically accurate, then you say you just don't care - say, are you familiar with the term 'moving the goalposts'?
