24. It is kind of like a crime to hate Atobe in PoT fandom, isn't it? -__- I adore the guy to death, but I don't think anyone should have to hide not liking a character. I think Yukimura has become the new Atobe though, so maybe the idea won't come off so offensive now? I dunno.

36. Most of my friends didn't finish the Soul Society Arc either. -__- The whole Aizen thing was worth finishing that part for though.

51. OMFGYESSSSS. MY FAVORITE MANGA. ♥ Seriously, it's amazing. I can even see it being popular in America if it were dubbed and put on TV. It appeals to all kinds of different audiences and is just so fun and interesting in general. You have reminded me that I need to go make icons for that fandom! It deserves more love!

Thank you very much. :) I agree, the nature of the An Cafe fans in general kind of makes me want to back away a little. I understand they're all beautiful boys and that may make one overly excited, but yeah. I don't know either. -__-

LOL sane Bou fans are practically a myth. Like the hydra or something. I think all 7 of them are attractive really and I know not everybody will see that but those that do can take things to extremes :/ that said, I borderline fangirl Kanon takuya and Yuuki but I draw the line somewhere.

Still, they're a LONG way off from being like Gazefags or Dir en grey's fans. I take some comfort in that.

Heh. I like your myth comparison. XD Very true. They are all quite attractive, and I'm pretty sure a good portion of their fanbase is the result of that... it's been established already. I just enjoy the photos when they're posted and stay away from the commentary. It seems safer that way. o__o

I'm not even into Jrock fandom really at all, but I sadly know a bit of what you mean. The fans in general just don't appeal to me. I guess it depends on where you look though.

Yeah, there is no question that bands will get fans because of how they look. I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing, and I doubt they will try not to promote it. You won't get fanservice from American bands haha.

I'm not in fandoms either but I'm a regular reader of the alice nine. and An Café diary translation communities and I like being a part of them, the people there are friendly (: I'm yet to even meet a jrock fan IRL but they'd probably be insane anyway :

LOL I know. I was thinking about the fanservice thing the other day while looking at an issue of Cure. "Oh why are you so awesome, Japan?" XD Lovely music and pretty boys is a great technique. It's practically mandatory for female artists in America... but not always for the guys. :(

I'm not too into blogs in general, but I like Alice Nine as well so maybe I'll look into that. I've never met a Jrock fan offline either. I guess it's more because I wouldn't really know much of what to say to one, sadly.

I read Miyavi's as well, and I've got some others added but An Café's and alice's are updated regularly. Nao always posts about his food/coffee addiction, Tora never posts and Hiroto often posts pictures of the sky. Saga posted the best thing ever about cooking and making girls hearts throb jfkd. But then you have people who take it too seriously and go around spouting how so and so are totally boning. gtfo my fandom please. The AC blogs are fun to read, Miku and Teruki update the most it seems, and blogs are a good way to keep up with their lives plus you learn things about them they you may not see in interviews (which go untranslated as it is).

I'm one of the sane ones, honestly... but I seem to regularly talk about how I'd sleep with Kanon, Miyavi or Yoshiki but it's all in the name of lulz. But seriously, I would.

I don't think so, there is some Yukimura bashing and ~~even though some retaliate bashing Echizen~~ there isn't any "HOW CAN ANYBODY HATE HIM!?" sort of reaction.

Yeah, you're probably right that it isn't quite as extreme of a situation. But like back when the Ryoma vs. Yukimura thing was going on, people were treating Yukimura like some beautiful god that had come down to save the boring plot line or something. -_- I felt like I was among the tiny minority that wanted Ryoma to win. Though I guess if you look at the big picture and not just the latest events, Atobe does dominate the hearts of the fandom.
