Late, but still...

7: Well, Sweden is the leading nation in exporting annoying pop, but since it's mostly in the hidden form of writing for foreign bands, I can understand the mistake. XD *is Swedish, and knew from the start*

43: I just want to say, that's one hot picture! Juri/Utena ftw.

51: I adore HXH! It's got its problems, but it's amazing all the same. No need to bash something else in comparison, though.

55: I'd say you've just had some bad luck. Very few writers (I'm excluding the badficcers who're no pleasure to read anyway) use those stereotypes anymore.

61: No, I'd say the people calling women those things are still wrong about the rest of us. Why would something be true of all women just because one woman feels it?

63: Heh, "old school" you say? Bah, that word is so overused and given completely undeserved respect.

Sure, I bought FFVII when it was released, played it obsessively several times, and is my most beloved game to this date. Yeah, I still adore it with all my might! It's not that the game itself is perfect (the details of the story could be a bit hard to even find out if you weren't stubborn enough); I just love it.

I do, however, love the film as well. It didn't contradict canon (except for the colour of materia, summon is supposed to be red), it gave us delicious fighting scenes, and I thought it was nice to see the characters in that version, and hear their voices (Sakurai Takahiro was perfect).

And about your friends wanting to play the characters from after AC; it might have something to do with the fact that it takes place after the game, and it's difficult to disregard a piece of canon when you've seen it?

It'd be hot even if I wasn't on a shipping spree of it, heh.

Haha. No, it really isn't. Not in FFVII fandom, anyway.

Well, presuming your friends (if you're the OP that is) are saner than the fanbrats, I mean. It's easy to disregard the canon if your fanfic/meta only have a passing resemblance to it anyway.

Actually, I've seen some really good stuff that acknowledged only certain works in the Compilation. It IS possible.

Well, I'd say it depends, of course. I'd still call it AU, though, if it disregards events and developments taking place before the events in the fanfic.

If later parts of canon contradicts earlier parts, I tend to go with the original, but aside from Last Order I haven't seen any contradictions (though I haven't played DoC or CC yet, so I don't know abou those two).
