(Anonymous) 2016-10-06 12:55 am (UTC)(link)Ooooh! I like sci-fi, small town drama, drama in general, mystery, suspense... I'm not so fond of comedy (unless it's witty) or romance.
:D

Our Fair City took awhile to grow on me, but once Herbert West shows up it really takes off. The dark humor seen in the live shows (one of which ends with a character realistically gasping for air as poisonous gas chokes him while a choir sings "You Can't Always Get What You Want") really appeals for me.
Uncanny County is good, but I've yet to find something that really grabbed me in it.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-06 01:00 am (UTC)(link)People aren't MMO bags, we don't have a specific number of slots to fill up. Some people are into just one podcast, some people are into twenty podcasts. WtNV isn't stealing people from something else, and there are clearly a lot of people who enjoy it.
Personally, I wasn't a podcast person before I started listening to WtNV, and I've tried other podcasts since getting into it and not found anything that was as fun for me to listen to. I enjoy Cecil's voice, all the characters, the general atmosphere, the radio show format, etc. It's actually kind of a soothing thing I listen to when I'm ill or upset, because the combination of Cecil's voice and the way things are taken in stride in the series makes me feel better.
Whether another podcast is "better" is utterly irrelevant.
