A full federal partnership is something that has been campaigned for for decades, but the English parliament at Westminster refuses to give up power to allow it.

Again, with respect - and let me reiterate that I am in favor of this option - but Scotland did have a referendum, and they didn't vote that way.

For economy reasons, mostly. In the face of Brexit, that vote might have a very different outcome.

I think it probably would have.

At the same time, I think the outcome of that vote has to make you at least a little bit reticent to just straight-up talk about how Scotland thirsts for independence and the only thing that's blocking it is English bigotry
