Sirius. I love AUs where Sirius doesn't die. I want him to get to have a happy life and have a parental relationship with Harry. And Harry deserves a father figure who actually lives.

Anya. If I'm reading post-season 7 stuff, I prefer AUs where she survives.

I also read regular fics where he dies, but I do enjoy AUs where Celebrimbor survives. Also AUs where Boromir survives.

<3 Sirius love. Especially AUs where he's able to grow, not be stunted, mature and the man he was always meant to be (without losing his roguish charm).

Pretty much all of the Metal Gear woman.

Eva is still alive.
Sniper Wolf is still alive.
Dr Strangelove is still alive.
Dr Hunter is still alive.
Even Quiet is still alive, although she has started wearing real clothes.

Also, Deb Morgan didn't die, and moved away with Dexter.

Finally, Aayla Secura Didn't just survive Order 66, she killed Anakin before he got to the younglings and single handedly rebuilt the Jedi order.

Erik, the Phantom of the Opera. And if Neal Cassidy and Graham the Huntsman are dead, it's only until OUAT's crazy plot hiccups bring them back.

Yes to Neal. So much yes. Hook can die in his place, and Emma and Neal can be happy together.

I've been ignoring Sirius' death since it happened. I'm pretty good at ignoring Snape's death too.

Yes and yes.

Alfons Heiderich, from the FMA movie (Conqueror of Shambala). I wrote a whole bunch of fics just ignoring his death. Or the entire movie, tbh.

Plo Koon, Kit Fisto and the other Jedi I like all managed to survive Order 66. Fives, Waxer, Hardcase and all the other awesome Clones similarly survived and are living in retirement somewhere.

Yes! I love AUs where some of the Jedi survived, hiding in secret and then popping up later and meeting Luke and Leia and everyone.

I always ignore deaths of Optimus Prime I mean they seldom last long enough to really matter anyway.

In that vein, also most "deaths of Starscream" don't tend to last long either. Either they end up reversed by the next series in a continuity or get reversed by next episode due to "oh lookie here I have a mutant immortal spark you can't kill me" nine times out of ten. That one time that it wasn't was Unicron Trilogy.

I really like Dragon age 2 aus where both siblings survive. I want cute twin and sibling interactions!!

I one story I read relatively recently was an AU where Marian got caught getting her family out (they got away) and Duncan conscripted her. The result was a Hawke Warden, a Hawke Champion, and a Hawke Inquisitor.

Snape. I also choose to ignore the fact that Rowling probably intended most Death Eaters to die, bc I like the idea of the Wizarding World post-Voldemort being this horrible dystopian place where everyone knows there's all these people who were murderers and worse, but no one is able to prove anything, so it's this constant simmering pot of plots and intrigue and paranoia and barely-concealed violence between a dozen different factions across the spectrum of Light and Dark.

L. Because L was the bomb.

Frigga in the Thor movies. On the one hand I thought her death made sense thematically, as both Thor and Loki are gradually losing everything that tied them to Asgard. On the other hand I liked Frigga and wish she was my mom. :(

Frigga was badass. I wish she hadn't died too :(

Sirius--nope, never died. He just went into hiding frome the Death Eaters.

Breakdown--nope he was never murdered by Airachnid, no sir. Love me some AUs where it was the other way around and Airachnid not only was offed by Breakdown but also used to make CYLAS. Because that's some A+++ creepy shit.

Eir Stegalkin--Mostly for an AU in which she and Braham have their legends intersect more often--Braham with his own group, and Eir with Destiny's Edge, must take on the increasing threat of the Dragons in Tyria and she manages to be the one to take on Jormag.

Like, everyone in Watch_Dogs, but Defalt in particular.

i like time-travel AUs that prevent a lot of the deaths in HP, including Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Fred - to name the big ones.

Boromir. Also, Kili. And Maedhros and Maglor.

I have read some good fics for various dead DA characters not being dead, but I really don't usually ignore those deaths myself. The fics can be interesting though, but I do wonder if there are more fics where Duncan does not die, I have only read one (which was more about how well the war could go if Loghain was not so at odds with the Wardens).

Almost all my favourite HP characters were dead at the end of book 7, so I ignore those.
