Non-fandom secrets

inspired by above, because it's upsetting me and I'm bad at verbalizing:

I hate that hating, belittling, or otherwise dismissing men in their entirety is so common in modern feminism.

I don't believe the answer is "women support women ALWAYS." In my life it has always been other women that have hurt me. It has been other women that bully me. It has been other women that betray my friendship. It has been other women that use me as a stepping stone. Men have supported me, men have been loyal to me; I would be absolutely lost if it weren't for my guy friends and the other men in my life.

Can guys be horrible? Hell fuckin yeah, a lot needs to change there.

Women can be horrible too. I absolutely wish we could talk about that.

Yeahhh.

Well, you know, it's not perfect, but not a lot is.

I would like to bring up the point for you to consider that Men and women may be equaly horrible to women, but men being horrible is still socially and legally acceptable.

DA

Women abusing/bullying/being horrible to other people is much more socially and legally acceptable, though. So much so that most people think it's no big deal/totally okay/impossible that a woman could be an abuser.

The majority of abusers are men.

Not by several recent estimations - it's much more likely to be pretty even. Considering female abusers almost never get reported and emotional abuse is not as easily proven, it's no wonder that so many statistics make people like you think what you said is true.

That's absolutely not true, though? The glass ceiling is a thing, yes. But women are almost never called out or brought to any sort of justice when they bully/beat/otherwise abuse someone, unless it's a child. Men are assumed to be abusive on such thin evidence as a woman's unhappiness. Don't pretend that social ostracism isn't a thing here: if a man is found not guilty of a domestic assault, for instance, he will absolutely still carry the label "wife beater." People will say he "got away with it." Even if he didn't do it.

And that's not even getting into how insanely hard it is to make a domestic abuse charge stick on a woman, and I'm saying that as a lesbian that's been abused by a partner.

I think that the general inequity of society means that, on a large scale, men are much more likely to be give leeway to be terrible. At the same time, this is such a complex and involved thing, and it's undeniable to me that there are plenty of times on a micro level where women being awful is condoned. So

my biggest issue with the "women support women always!!!" thing is like... if you're straight cis and white, yeah, maybe.

I'm starting to really worry about TERF-anon. The hints they've dropped about being a dysphoric lesbian who found out the truth really ring true with a lot of stories I've heard about people having psychotic breaks due to traumatic events who then get obsessed and hyperfocused on what they perceive as the cause of their suffering.

Or they could just be a troll who's good at mimicking that kind of breakdown behavior.
