Considering that Card Captor Sakura started a new manga, maybe we'll be seeing a new anime for it, too!

Though as for "girl power"... I'm kind of disappointed in SM as far as girl power goes. This isn't what I remembered. I wonder if I go back to CCS or Rayearth they will disappoint me too. I think there's a reason I always read shounen for power fantasies...

Don't worry, with all the reboots and remakes being made now a days, Cardcaptor Sakura and Magic Knight Rayearth are BOUND to be on the list somewhere.

Isn't Cardcaptor Sakura getting a sequel series?

I'd love an MKR reboot though. One that follows the manga more instead of doing its own thing (especially in Season 2), like Sailor Moon Crystal did.

As others have mentioned, CCS has 5 chapters out of a new manga now! It's cute, very much like the old series. I can totally see them going with another new anime soon too, once there's enough material to work with. CCS is having their 20th anniversary this year and there's been some new merch released, it just hasn't been as hugely discussed as Sailor Moon, because SM is the bigger juggernaut.

I love both so I'm just happy rolling around in all the new things :)

CCS is my legit favorite manga ever, so I was fearful when they announced a sequel. xxxHOLIC/Tsubasa burned me off CLAMP, so I approached with caution.

But so far, I am digging the new manga. It captures the CCS I knew and I hope it'll continue to be as awesome as it currently is. (Crossing fingers for an American release, too, though I will be surprised if they don't.)

Is it a reboot or a sequel-type deal? Or yet another AU lol CLAMP please no more we have had quite enough of THAT.

MKR remains one of my favorite manga series. (I loved the OVA and what little I saw of the anime series, too, but the manga really stands out for it's interesting morality and depth.) It's a shame that it really got overlooked compared to other magical girl series. Especially since it has a lot of things that I think made it more universally appealing vs the others (dragons and magical armor and fantasy adventure vs makeup and miniskirts)

I'd love to see it remade with a budget that would really let it shine. Like, full on scenery porn and the best magic/attack effects the industry can provide.

I love all three, but I'd definitely love to see a Magic Knight Rayearth reboot!

Tbh, I DON'T want an anime reboot of MKR. Because if they do that, like Sailor Moon, it may follow the manga more. I MUCH preferred the anime, especially season 2. The ONLY difference I want is the ability for them to go back, which they changed at the end of the anime from the manga. That I much preferred Umi/Clef.

that, I don't super little kid-like Hikaru. I liked the more mature feeling Hikaru from that anime.

There's been a ton of new Rayearth merchandise released in the past year or so, so it's hardly been forgotten.

Where is all this merch getting released? I've literally never seen one single piece of MKR merch anywhere ever. Not even at cons, which you would think would be where you'd find it.

I've never really watched Cardcaptor the way I watched Sailor Moon, but whenever I caught an episode, I enjoyed it all the way through.

With the new manga and this secret, I find myself really wanting to get into this! Where to start~
