I tend to drop shows/books/webcomics/fanfic etc as soon as non-binary characters (who are not non-humanoid aliens) show up in a prominent role.
Reason is I have met a few too many people identifying as non-binary who turned out to be the most toxic, disgusting bullies who were playing their gender identity as a trump card to shut down any criticism of their behavior. All of them were huge, fucking assholes.
So I kinda developed a very strong dislike towards people who identify as non-binary and would preferably not be confronted with their ilk.

No, obviously not. Not every asshole is NB, but all NB people I've encountered were assholes and that asshole behaviour more often than not came down to skmething to do with their gender identity.

I wonder if that's like the "all vegetarian are preachy" thing; where you don't even notice the non-preachy vegetarians because they're just quietly eating their black bean burgers (dammit, now I've given myself a craving) and not making a big deal about it.

Almost nobody knows I'm genderfluid, because it's not something that's relevant to most conversations.

Seems like. No one outside my spouse knows I'm agender and I'm also vegetarian (Well, close friends/family know about the vegetarian thing because I pick the meatless options at social meals). I sure know one of my facebook friends is vegan though! Why yes I think I will enjoy some chicken periods for breakfast, they're delicious.

I've been scared because of the irreversible damage we're doing to our climate and the fact that politicians don't really talk about it nearly as much as they should and a lot of people think it's NBD. We're going to wreck our planet.

For what it's worth, I just think of all the horrible things that have happened in the course of history, and remind myself that we made it through those things, we'll make it through this one too.

I also try to think of all this unrest as sort of like (this is kind of gross) a wound being drained of pus. Yeah it's gross to watch all the pus come out but you'll feel better once it's gone.

My SO has misophonia to the sounds people make when eating. Because of this unless the TV is on I started eating in another room.
He started following me. I think totally subconscious 'oh, someone's doing something interesting in another part of the house I must follow them and see what they're doing.'

For a very long time I wouldn't eat until he left the room and reminded him I was doing this FOR HIM.

But for the past week when he follows me I sit down and slurp and smack to my heart's content and he RUNS out again because he can't stand the sound.

I get way too much enjoyment and smug satisfaction every time it happens. I should probably feel guilty, I don't.

(He's never angry or tries to guilt trip me or anything, it's honest 100% forgetting, I think because I've spent so much time being so careful to not set off his misophonia he's forgotten that Nonny carrying cornchips to the other room means it's crunchcrunchcrunch time)
