Do you have an internet 'home base'?

(Anonymous) 2016-10-07 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Sites or communities you visit often where you feel familiar or at home? What are they?

FS and Reddit for me.

I can't edit, but Imgur too.

FS and Facebook, probably. I've been coming to FS pretty much every day for ... a lot of years.

FS for all sorts of stuff, meaning fandom, random and personal. But mainly tumblr, I guess. Not because I like the platform (or even the people) that much, but because it's where fandom is now.

The House of §trange - my little LJ comm where I dump stuff like links to RP transcripts, plotbunnies I have no idea where else to send, the Nightlands world-building as I get around to it.

There's also here, Twitter (more my @SilmarilNaro account than my @MimiSardinia one), and Deviant Art, where I currently keep my active journal.

Facebook and F!S mostly. I flit between blogs and also have periods where Kongregate would go on that list.

I have been getting a little more into Reddit lately, we'll see where that goes.

I can honestly say it's been at least 15 years since I felt "home" or "familiar" anywhere on the internet.

I have places I regularly visit, but I'll never be anything but an obvious outsider there.
