I'm a veteran who served in the Navy under Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

People who judge other people's decisions to stay closeted, or pressure them to come out, or worst of all out them without their consent, are dickbags.

I'd say you don't need to tag for "Internalized Homophobia."

Thank you for your service. DADT ideologies are definitely at play in this scenario, even if it's not an actual policy; that is how the people in this organization behave.

I just found myself puzzling a little over why certain stories get that tag. If guilt/shame is a theme, yes; but remaining closeted for whatever reason? I guess slash fans want escapism where everyone is a-okay with everything.

My thing here is a lot more real-world, and the real world's got conflict and other peoples' homophobia and media shit storms over gay panics. But conflict is what makes stories interesting, tbh.
