I also really, really love White Houses by Vanessa Carlton. I love the music video for that one as well, one of my favourites!

(Anonymous) 2016-10-09 08:31 am (UTC)(link)I still love White Houses, too. It was actually her first album I liked best (and still do), but I think White Houses is by far her best song.
Random aside: I remember reading a comment on the internet where some asshole was like, "Bitch, stop singing about your fucking hymen," and at the time I remember not really realizing or understanding that it was blatant misogyny. Just thinking, like, was that actually a bad thing for her to sing? Was it an inappropriate song?
It's funny how much perspective one gains with maturity.
