I am so excited for this debate. I wonder if Donald "Grab Them By The Pussy" Trump will do better. He can't do much worse than the last debate.

I'm surprised everyone is so outraged and surprised about that quote.

It's like they completely forget Trump is 70. He was born in the 40s and grew up in the 50s as a billionaire's kid. Of the modern era, he is not. Neither is Hillary, to be fair.

You mean the ones who desperately want to get re-elected to Congress?

Well, my mother's in her 70s and she's disgusted. I don't know what my dad's opinion would be if he were alive, but at worst it'd probably be "I don't want to vote for someone dumb enough not to check that the microphones are off before shooting off their mouth."

Yeah, I love all these Republican politicians just NOW deciding to bail on Trump. If only they'd thought to do that back when he was talking about how most Mexicans were rapists and drug dealers, or started harping on about banning all Muslims from the U.S. There were a few Republicans throughout this election cycle who called him out or didn't support him, especially after his idiotic remarks to the Khan family during the DNC.

But they just weren't loud enough, it seems (and I think most of them were people who aren't even running anymore and could afford to take that risk, like the former President Bushes). And now the GOP's in one hell of a bind. Don't support Trump, risk alienating Trump voters. Support Trump, risk alienating voters who can't stand the guy.

They never should've let this insanity with Trump get this far, but they did. And they have nobody but themselves to blame for the current mess their party's in as a result.

Oh yeah, my heart bleeds for them about as much as it bleeds for progressives.

I'm a little creeped out by how many "liberals" are implying that the women Trump made those comments about don't deserve the solidarity they're getting because it wasn't given to the minorities Trump has been badmouthing for years. They're only getting it because they're WHITE women so they like, hardly even count as an oppressed group!

I think the point is to call into question the motives and moral standing of the people making the judgments, not whether or not white women that Trump made comments about deserve solidarity. Of course they do. The point is that Republicans who are condemning the comments aren't actually interested in solidarity.

Oh, agreed, I don't support that attitude, either. I hope that's not how my post came off, 'cause you're right, those women deserve as much support as any of the other groups of people Trump's made horrible comments about.

My main point was just more about Republicans' weird sense of timing as to when they decided that Trump was suddenly not worth supporting. Hell, he said shitty things about Megyn Kelly and Hillary Clinton early on in this election, and I seem to remember him making some remarks about Carly Fiorina's looks as well. Why were Republicans able to look the other way then?

(Well, in Hillary's case I can pretty much guess why they didn't care that he said nasty things about her, but I would've at least thought they'd stick up for Megyn and Carly.)

What I find interesting is the Republicans who've said they won't be voting for Trump but that they won't be voting for Hilary either. So...who are you voting for? Gary Johnson? Kodos?

Yeah, and it's from ten freakin' years ago. We can't hold 'kike' and 'superpredator' against Clinton, but 'grab them by the pussy' is still relevant?

Bullshit claim made by some woman trying to sell a book. Wouldn't nbe surprised if Trump paid off to say it.

There's zero proof so you know there's not one word of truth to it. If it was true you'd have heard about it well before now with proof and citations.

I don't think a single person is actually surprised. I think people are either:

a) delighted to find this ammo against him
b) cringing that this ammo against him was uncovered

Everyone knows it existed, the only issue is that such damning footage of it was uncovered. But there can't be a single person in the entire world that didn't know he said such things, there's undoubtedly a lot more out there. That's quite clearly the kind of person he is.
