RPG soundtracks are my favorite thing to work to (if you go on youtube, there's tons of Japanese uploaders in particular who make desk-work mixes of RPG/game music--just look for 作業用 and you'll get tons of stuff for all kinds of genres!). FF6 is my favorite game of all time, and I find that now I time myself around the OST.
I, am also in my 30s.

But, I wanted to reply to tell you my own related secret:
Ever since I was a little girl, whenever I have to walk anywhere alone, I always imagine that I am in a party of people I just can't see because the cutscene hasn't come yet. It actually helps sometimes.
