And there's been an occasional situation of Canadians coming across the border to get procedures done that they won't do for free under the Canadian healthcare system up there for whatever reason, but this is not like, some common thing or something. Not at all.

It's by and large people not wanting to wait for elective surgeries. Life-saving surgeries don't have a queue (for obvious reasons), you get those right away, which means that people electing to have one for non-critical, improvement-of-life reasons sometimes have to wait several months. So sometimes wealthy people say "fuck that" and cross the border.

Also plastic surgery.
