Re: Mpreg question

I imagine there's some kind of biological thing that happens to keep that from happening, in ABO universes.

Also I think omegas don't produce virile sperm and alphas don't have wombs, so...

I don't know what keeps betas from doing it.

Betas are generally 'normal' humans.

Then aren't omegas and alphas effectively "normal humans" also, since the one can impregnate and the other do the impregnating?

Isn't that the literal, scientific definition of male and female?

Wouldn't male omegas just be shittily designed females? Wouldn't evolution have bred them out ages ago, since female omegas (with their larger pelvic girdle and more effective mammary glands) would reproduce more effectively, not to mention male alphas out-competing female alphas, due to being larger/stronger?

Alpha/omega are differentiated by the fact they go into heat/rut. Betas don't do that.

It isn't a real world thing so real biology and evolution doesn't really matter.

Though, in many ABO fics they take care to mention that alphas/omegas are super in the minority compared to betas. Some also note that omega males have some similar features to females (wider hips, etc) and that alpha females can be larger/more aggressive than their beta counterparts.

I know way to much about this.

Yeah but there are all kinds of pseudo-scientific rationalizations for it that I've heard, I just can't imagine why evolution wouldn't come into play.

I know a little bit about it because I've been drunk/desperate enough to read about a certain ship that I actually clicked on shit tagged with ABO lol

I always thought it would be more interesting if the betas could do both. But were just less virile/fertile/whatever, which kept them from outcompeting the alphas and omegas. It would make for better worldbuilding than "there's this sekrit tiny minority that doesn't affect the world at all"

But that's not porn, I guess.

The nearest I have seen to the idea of someone being able to do both was in a Dragon Age series where alpha females had penises (stored internally unless aroused. It didn't go into detail because the main pairing was male/male couples, and I don't think it was ever implied that omega males could do both as well.

I read an ABO fic once where betas were all hermaphrodites, but I think they were sterile. I also read one where omega men had no testicles but still had a penis. At the end of the day, that's what matters - dick. This all came out of slash fandom, so if you take away male characters dicks everyone would be all *sad face*

Well slash fandom is where people go to see two (or more) dudes fucking so I'm not sure why I'm supposed to be surprised that the people in it like dick.
