Horror survival game, iirc. It is particularly heavy in disturbing content, but it is a horror game, after all.

TRIGGER WARNING/SPOILERS

It's a horror survival series. You have to escape from a mental asylum/laboratory filled with murderous patients and you're only armed with a camcorder equipped with night vision that lets you see in the dark. The idea is that you can't fight any of the enemies, so all you can do is run away or hide from them. It's a good game imo but SUPER GORY.

The secret is talking about Eddie Gluskin from the DLC. He's a serial killer who's obsessed with finding a "bride" who can have his children. He attempts to make the (male) player character, Waylon Park, into his bride by...chopping his dick off. You come across a lot of his victims during the game and (to put it very delicately) he crudely mutilates their bodies to give them breasts and uteureses. And it's implied he tries to have sex with them before they died from their injuries.

For reasons I can t begin to fathom this guy has a HUGE fanbase, with tons of fangirls who think he's hot and charming. And Waylon/Eddie is far and away the most popular ship in the fandom. Yes people ship the serial killer with his would be victim.

Ohhhh please. Dark and disturbing characters having fans doesn't mean the fans are brainwashed wanna-be serial killer wives. Dark fictional characters can be interesting and exciting, and, le gasp, some people like dark ships and non-con. I mean, your last paragraph makes you sound completely new to fandom.

I don't understand outlast fandom. Like the game is great and the meta is awesome but the thought of people shipping in this fandom is bizarre.

And that's saying something considering I understand the basis for FNAF shipping (furries)
