Baking sounds like a really keen idea. I should do some of that.

Otherwise, relax for the first time in a long time. Hopefully try to finish a fic in the coming days (I have discovered that the Tesco sells tiny little single serving wine bottles for less than the price of a glass which is kind of perfect for little ol' lightweight me).

Tomorrow I'm going out to make contact with the locals for possibly the first time since I've been here so that should be interesting. I have been told that I should experience "traditional" cuisine, so ...looking forward to really awful fish and chips and really good beer?

Blech fish and beer. Though the chips part sounds good. I hope you have fun being out and exploring. How is the weather there?

Little do you know... the chips are probably the worst part. They are terminally soggy most of the time and basically never salted.

Weather is amazing here, honestly. The temperatures are exactly like home, so I feel perfectly happy walking everywhere I want to go. It hasn't really rained more than I'm used to (I've seen the sun several times, and even for multiple days!) and the only thing that has taken some getting used to is the wind that can kick up out of nowhere. It's brisk out but not too chilly, and so far no frost yet. I'm assuming that will start fairly soon though.
