Forever bitter about C/7. FOREVER.

Yes. So agreed. They should have killed off Chakotay (or Harry) rather than Kes. She was more interesting than either of them. And Seven didn't need a romance, and if she was going to get one, it should have been with someone she actually showed feelings for and cared about.

They should have got rid of Kim and Chakotay. Kim because the writers had no idea what to do with him once his being ensign newbie wore off after the first half of S1. Chakotay because they should have fired Robert Beltran's ass for trash talking the show at every opportunity. I think they were right to dispense with Kes, like Kim they had no idea what to do with her or what her role was supposed to be. Replacing her with Seven was the right thing to do. I'll say this for Neelix, I may have hated that damn hedgehog, but at least they found a role for him even if it was as the resident irritating shithead.

I definitely th ink that Chakotay should've been killed, but I still maintain that Harry not only needed to live, but that the whole thing about him never getting promoted needed to be played up more blatantly. Same with his thing where almost none of his love interests are interested back, and if they are they either die very early on or are just using him for one reason or another. I like him okay, don't get me wrong, I just think the idea of him spending the rest of his life--not just his time on Voyager--alone, unloved and unpromoted and occasionally tortured by sadistic aliens is oddly amusing. Basically, I think they could have found a niche for him by having him be the unluckiest comic relief character Star Trek has ever known.

I'm working my way through Voyager finally (it aired during a period when I didn't have TV), and I really hate just about every Doctor/7 and Janeway/7 conversation right now. "We're going to make you more like a neurotypical human and YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE IT."

Barkley was dooing pretty good by voyager time. Perhaps he enacted a dark ritual to transfer all of his loser to somebody else.

It was so out of nowhere and boring.
