I don't get this trend. Isn't the whole point of a FANdom to be a fan?

It's honestly why I've given up on finding any. At best, people's love for things is closer to "meh" (so forget meta or squee, no one cares), and yeah, then you have people who just hatelove things. Or love the kinks.
