I can't stand the taste either. I don't think I've met an artificial sweetener that didn't have a distinct - and unpleasant - taste. No matter how much people insist you can't tell the difference between regular and diet... you can tell. It's why I just don't drink much soda at all.

I actually dislike the taste of regular soda. Coke leaves a weird taste in your mouth and makes your teeth feel filmy. I do like diet coke, though, for some reason.

Same. Diet sodas have this sickly sweet, sticky chemical aftertaste to them I cannot stand.

I can actually smell the difference.

Came in handy when I worked fast food, since sometimes people wouldn't label whether a drink was regular or diet!

Stevia is about as artificial as sugar. I have problems with it though because I am used to how sugar tastes, and not stevia.
