I miss Spyro too. I haven't played the Skylanders version.
My cousin borrowed her boyfriend's PS2 and found my copy of Spyro the Dragon and was playing it a few months ago.
She was having a lot of trouble with getting the first flight level at 100%- I could hear her cursing and complaining every time she crashed or ran out of time from another room. After about thirty minutes, I got tired of listening to her (I was trying to watch TV). So I went into her room, took the controller, reset the level, got 100% on the first try, sat the controller down, and went back to the living room to finish watching Leverage. She followed me and asked how I did it. I told her about the summer I spent playing the three PS1 Spyro games to 100% complete and how I played that level over and over until I got it down pat.
