Not only was the documentary stupid and trying too hard to find a story where there wasn't one, but I'm from Staten Island, so I asked lots of friends/family (including my dad's friends and my grandparents) if they knew what Cropsey was. Every single born-and-bred Staten Islander I asked replied, "What's the hell's a Cropsey?" I asked about 20 Islanders, from age 18 to 80, and nobody knew what Cropsey was.

The documentary acts as if ALL Staten Islanders know of this super cool local urban legend, and it's full of shit. My family remembered all about the missing kids case and such, but had never heard of Cropsey. The documentary misrepresents a lot of stuff.
