Can someone decipher this secret, please?

I think we have to do the background reading found in the url provided by the OP. Only, no. I ain't doing no more homework.

Thinking about the deaths from disease of the actor and the character the actor played makes OP sad.

Mark Lenard had cancer, but it was kidney failure which killed him so he was in a lot of pain and not coping brilliantly at the time of his death.

Sarek (his Star Trek character) had a very sad ending as he slipped into the Vulcan version of dementia, losing complete control over his emotions. It was quite a depressing end for Sarek.

I guess OP finds it sad that neither got to have a peaceful end, although I have to say Mark Lenard's acting as Sarek was utterly brilliant so to have that as a legacy is pretty great.

Thanks for sharing the interview, OP!

Although, I would say that Mark Lenard didn't NOT have a peaceful end. It is hard, coping with a terminal illness, but not necessarily not peaceful. Often, it's about state of mind at the end, and while he fought his illness as long as he could, it sounds like he had his loved ones with him.

I get what they were doing with that episode, but I always wish it hadn't happened that way.
