(Anonymous) 2016-10-23 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)Especially as the creators have specifically mentioned that this final season will play heavily into leading to the events of the book. It's not going to be some happy-go-lucky AU where everyone sails off into the sunset.
The Flint/Silver shippers make me laugh the hardest... Especially as Madi is clearly meant to become Silver's wife.
I mean, c'mon, the only semi-plausible (and I say this with a huge grain of salt, not in any way believing it could/would ever happen) ship for Flint with the existing characters is Billy and it's pretty damn clear that ain't going to happen. (Not that I'd object to some really muscly hate-sex...)
Though, I'm actually really, really curious about how they're going to bring about the situation where Billy is the one that ends up with the map, and has the crew hating him. I mean, Billy's motivation has always been what's best for the men/crew... Unless he decides there's some reason that keeping them from the treasure will keep them safe?

(Anonymous) 2016-10-24 05:42 am (UTC)(link)I mean, it's still puzzling because there's gotta be a reason that Billy was with Flint in Savannah when when he died, and that he's pursued by Flint's crew and given the black spot.
I'm excited to see how the show gets to that point!

Madi doesn't seem like the sort of person that wants to stay at home and mind the store rather than, you know, do the job she's been brought up for her whole life and lead her people. Just because she's the first female he's been attracted to doesn't mean she's going to get married to him.

Married women can have careers and be political leaders you know.
Let me give you some real life leaders to start with for reference(I did some that are both historical and current and you agree with their politics or choices or attitudes - they were both leaders of governments and married and had children):
Queen Victoria of England
Aung San Suu Kyi
Golda Meir
Margaret Thatcher
Hopokoekau(Glory of the Morning of the Wisconsin Hocąk nation)
But you know. Whatever. Stay home and mind the store. Because you cant possibly have a husband, a family, and lead a people. Totally impossible.
