Feathered dragons are awesome!

Idk, the raptors with feathers in like...the third movie looked less scary than in the first or the new one.

I enjoy scaled dinos mostly based on a nostalgia factor, but it would also be cool to see some feathered dinos in media

Also, related, here is some fanart I remember liking of the raptor from Jurassic World with feathers http://nin-ei.tumblr.com/post/121850403271/blue-was-super-cute-already-but-what-if-she-had

I wonder how much of "scaly dinosaurs look cooler in fiction" comes from most of (all?) the good dino movies using scales and there's no good feathered movie to compare to.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-26 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Look, scale-fans, we learned to live with T-rexes and iguanadons who carried their body and head horizontally instead of tripodal tail-draggers so just adding feathers is the least of the changes. Just accept it already. Start campaigning for a remake of Valley of the Gwangi with a feathered dinosaur this time instead of bitching.

You can still have scaly dragons and mega crocs.

anyone who's nitpicking and judging other people is just obnoxious, but I do love the idea of a realistic feathered dino movie. Nerds ruining cool ideas with their shitty attitudes, same old same old...

What frustrates me is when people act like the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park are scientifically inaccurate because they don't have feathers, and by Jurassic World, "we knew they have feathers, therefore they should have had feathers", and it's like ? ??

The dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park series have always been scientifically inaccurate? They have DNA made of legos, being a horrific mishmash of all sorts of beasties that lead to "cool" looking, but not "pure" dinosaurs. That's kind of the whole point.

Exactly. That's why I get so annoyed by that stupid argument.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-28 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
There's just something slightly ridiculous about demanding scientific accuracy from your "Dinosaurs cloned from mosquito amber" movie. It's like watching "Home Alone" and getting pissed off that Harry and Marv are still alive at the end.

I read that "As a dinosaur" and I got very excited. Like it's possible that there's a dinosaur hanging out on F!S with the rest of us.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-26 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
but F!S hates otherkin...

I'm not that old. Although I'll admit the Bobby Vee death probably hit me harder than it did most of you whippersnappers.

Same!

I like scaly dinos but it'd be cool to get more feathered ones as well, but I imagine that since scaly dinos have been a movie staple for so long it's hard to change up the look.

I just want more dino movies. Of any kind. Dinos are up there with dragons for me. Give me all of them in movies.

THANK YOU

The scaly Dinosaurs never bothered me, because those particular creatures aren't fully Dinosaur. Plus, it was made like a month before they found out that Velociraptor was three feet tall and feathery.
