Given that the only thing I know about this one is that it's the fanfic that made grown men acknowledge that fanfic is fun...

...my bet would be that it's because it's written by a guy.

That's because it is: Eliezer Yudkowsky. LessWrong is the name of a blog and associated forum started by Yudkowsky that some of the alt-right froggies like to hang out at because of its frequent discussion of eugenics and evo psych.

Uh, I was reading a MASSIVE FFX fanfic back in the day was GORGEOUS and faithful to the game that was an Auron/Rikku fic written by a dude. I really he had finished it as opposed to doing an overhaul and rewritting it and then just...abandoning it. :C

It was "Somthing Spira" (Soldier of Spira?) and I LOVED IT.

Yes, Soldier of Spira. I got tired of it when the bit about setting up a girl's magazine came up because I felt the story momentum had dropped off.

...I don't even REMEMBER that bit. That must have been from the rewrite because that certainly wasn't in the original first post...:C I don't even know anymore. *sigh*

It's so hard to find well written Auron/Rikku fic and that was like, THE FIC for them and it just...poofed.
