NaNoWriMo

It starts in a few days. Who's doing it? Are you ready?

I've been doing it every year in 2007 and I probably won't be stopping any time soon. I'm not sure if I'm ready or not. I've got my basic story but there's a lot I still have to figure out. Whether I'll figure it out before I start writing or while I'm writing is up in the air.

I'm thinking about trying it with fanfic.

I'm doing it and I'm totally ready.

I'm doing it, but my last week and a half of prep has been interrupted by being sick too sick to really get out of bed, so it's not going to go well.

I usually do, but I haven't had the chance to do any of my usual prep, and November is chock full of "things that must be done" already.

So I'm just doing an unofficial version of carving out some time every day during November to write again. I used to, and I've fallen out of the habit due to personal stuff.

I keep wanting to try, and November keeps on consistently being the worst month for it imaginable. Fuck the quarter system, seriously.

I think I'll just continue where I left off last year, as I think I have at least 50k more words left to the story and I sort of miss the characters. I haven't really decided though, as I have another idea that I also want to work on. I think I'll just end up deciding on Tuesday.

I feel quite ready though. I've read through what I wrote last year and I've even been setting up some character and setting profiles on notebook.ai for both ideas, so that's more planning than I've ever done for NaNo as I usually just jump straight in without planning anything.

I'm definitely doing it, and I know what I'm writing, and I still don't know if I'm ready.

I don't feel like I'm ready, but then again, I never do.

I've got a basic story plotted out, but not down to the scene level.

I'm also almost done with my current WIP, which is important because I don't want to either split my attention, or have it hanging over me all month.

I'd like to do it - I tried last year, but it took a backseat to homework and college stuff. Trying again might be a good idea. Even if I don't finish, it's a good way to self-motivate and get more work done.

I'd like to do some sort of structured writing challenge for November, but I know I don't have the time, dedication, and inspiration to do NaNo proper. Any daily prompt challenges out there, maybe? I might be able to manage shorter bursts rather than full-on novel.
