AYRT-- I care because my cosplay stuff shows that I'm capable of doing pretty good work--not like amazingly fantastic, but it's clear that I put a lot of effort in--but my costume designs, where I have to come up with original stuff, suck, because I have to come up with original designs and I'm better at working off someone else's concept, because I've been run ragged by non-school related stuff for the last couple of years, and because my painting/drawing/precision skills are all lacking. I'm like 99% sure I'll dress up anyway; it's Halloween and it's not like I have to go hunting for costuming stuff. Although for the one I have in mind, I'd either have to style a wig or curl my hair.

Ah, I see. I didn't realize it was cosplay costumes you had ( I thought it was theatrical or based off of your own work-- but you were simply uninspired by school assignments/better in the execution over the design process).

Heh. Well, the one I was planning to wear is theatrical cosplay--the stage version of Carlotta and Christine's glitzy top of the show costume from Phantom of the Opera. I should probably iron all the pleats at the bottom back in, too. I do have a few original designs for things, but 90% of those don't make it past the planning stage. Hell, 90% of everything I want or need to do never gets past the planning stage. I just have no time. Most of the cosplay and costume stuff I made myself dates from before my life got eaten by being a full time caretaker to a sick family member while still being a full time college student with a half time job. And it's Halloween. Even if I have to spend part of it in class, fuck yeah, I'm gonna enjoy myself.
