35.) I've discovered that I just don't get much out of that show--not sure why. o_O I like alien plots and conspiracy stuff, a lot. Conspiracy is fun! And no show that has attempted those themes has worked or lasted since the X-Files. It's why I'm working on my current novel.

Then again, I like Japanese Horror, and Supernatural isn't gorey or messed up enough for me. Supernatural doesn't touch the void left by the X-Files at all, Coast To Coast AM with George Noory does. XD

Coast to Coast AM needs a fandom, seriously.

If there was a Coast to Coast fandom I'd be all over it.

But I like Ian Punnett best.

Oh man you need to watch more eps. Supernatural gets the headshots, shifters peeling off their own skin, people getting impaled by poles, all kinds 'a fun stuff. :D To me, it's an awesome replacement for X-Files, because what I loved about X-Files were the MotDs and the banter between Mulder and Scully.

But yeah, it's much more of Route-66-meets-X-Files, so while it gets the horror in, it's also a lot of comedy and drama. Dif'rent strokes and all that.

Coast to Coast AM is more like.... people who really believe this stuff. X-Files skirted the line.. Supernatural can go both ways, but also appeals to people who just treat it as fantasy. Don't get me wrong, I love ghost stories and messed up shit too, but I'm also pretty much a skeptic about it.

I watched it that far in, Supernatural just seems lacking something that the X-Files had. I watched it up to the 2nd season. Not gorey or messed up as Spiral or Suicide Circle. It seemed all ho-hum.

To top it off, I grew up on the road and I have seen more weird stuff; Coast to Coast AM is about finding the real life fringe. Plus, crazy truck drivers calling in with crazy stories, they are made of win.

I've watched the first two seasons of Supernatural and have only seen a few episodes X-Files, and I already agree that the X-Files > Supernatural (and Mulder and Scully > Dean and Sam, for that matter) by a landslide.

It's a fun show, but demons killing random people just plain isn't scary (teeth falling out, however, is fucking terrifying).
