My Creative Writing class just got back from Savannah where we did tours focused around Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and the guide, who had known Williams pretty well, was very insistent that one of the reasons that Joe Odum, Jim Williams, Chablis, Berendt, and many of the other characters knew each other so well was because they all were more or less "involved in the underground community of gay Savannah" which didn't help my brain get off it's shipping track.Sorry for the overly long rant, but yes, someone needs to make a comm. xDRe: 10

I suspected that since so much of the book seemed focused on the gay community, but Berendt never really comes out and says it.No apologies needed!
