This. People may encourage you because they're being nice and trying to be supportive, but that doesn't hold them to having to buy your work for it. It reminds me of people I used to know that would pester me to read their fanworks even if I wasn't interested in it at all. I'm not friends with either of them anymore, and with good reason.

I'm honestly baffled by how many people in this thread can't seem to comprehend this. Friendship isn't about forcing yourself to do things that you don't enjoy for the sake of the friendship - a true friend will understand that hey, sometimes you're not into the same things and that's okay. I'm big into horror games; my BFF is terrified of them. That's one subject we'll never be able to share in our friendship... and who cares? There are plenty of other things we can talk about and enjoy together.
