From a biased source trying to look like they're the hottest most hurt shit ever.

Listen. I've dealt with these kinds of people. They take any vague interest and take it as an obligation.

My point is that I'm looking at it from the other side, because I've been on the other side. Hence my story about people who have done this to me, even though I don't often pimp my own stories, though sometimes I'll mention that I write - in the broadest sense, with no details.
So clearly this *can* happen, even when somebody is not being demanding or viewing everything as a contract inked in blood.

Hell, it happened to me a month ago. I mentioned a story I was working on to a friend, and she asked a bunch of questions and seemed really interested. Then she said she wants to read it, and I downplayed and said nevermind, I don't like showing my work, it's incomplete, yadda yadda. Whatever, she insisted that she really does want to read it and she does care, and finally I relented. I even told her that she's not obligated to *like* the story, she can quit after a page if she wants, I have no problems with that - I know different people like different things.
Guess who hasn't even looked at the story.
