(Anonymous) 2016-10-31 01:18 am (UTC)(link)And I think there is a big disconnect where yeah, IRL friends are allowed much less leeway for playful exaggeration and you're more likely to take it at face-value when they say "Hey, could you cook dinner for us on Friday? I love your cooking," and then they just don't show up without telling you why.
But Fandom Friends are allowed more playful exaggeration and "I would literally kill for them" and so on and it's expected you won't take them as seriously.
In the future, when dealing with people saying stuff online, I once saw the advice that assume 1/10th of the people who swear they'll buy something actually will. So if you get 10 people going "Please make this a print I will buy it" you will probably get one sale.
