Trick or Treaters

(Anonymous) 2016-11-01 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm trying to decide what time I want to turn off my porch light. Nobody's been by in a bit, and I'd like to just make some kid's night and unload most everything I have left, but...I'm getting tired of hanging out down here and want to go upstairs and play my games.

We turned our light off at 8. But we only for like...10 trick or treaters. :(

I'm not American so don't celebrate Halloween so don't know if this could work but: you could put out a bowl or even a bag with everything in it and a sign saying they can have everything in it, but they have to ring the doorbell twice so you can come pick up the bowl and turn off the light?

No trick or treaters this year again. Just as well because I'm in my pajamas and don't want to deal with it.

Most places officially declare 8 to be the end. You might as well pack it up.

We didn't get any this year. I bought a bag of candy just in case any kids came around, but none came.

I'm glad I didn't even buy any candy because I didn't get a single doorbell. Granted I ran errands after work and didn't get home until 6:40 but I'm kind of surprised I didn't get a single one.

Yep. I've got a lot of Peanut Butter Snickers, Hershey bars and generic sour blow-pops left over. Fortunately, I was able to find the small 2 for $5 bags, and I only bought one bag of each.
