23. I couldn't agree more. In fics, it's become "if your character as much as looks in a canon character's direction, SHE IS A SUE!" What's the point in an OC, then? What if some of us want to try pulling it off? In the Harry Potter fandom, we were practically built on OCs, and now it's taboo to write them.
In original, if a female is too girly OR has too many strengths, she's a Sue. Drives me mad. And I'm already concerned about my female character, because I CAN see her deciding she's a Sue. It sucks.
