I think the problem with her is that her like-Fred-and-George qualities took so damn long to show up. The first two books made a point of how she couldn't even speak to Harry, and that is understandable, but she all but vanishes in the next two books before suddenly appearing again as Twins'-younger-sister.

Yes, exactly. I think I read somewhere that JKR always intended Harry/Ginny to be end game. If this is true, maybe she was trying to make it a surprise? IDK. But it did not do Ginny's character any favors.

I prefer characters/pairings to be more fleshed out. Her disappearing act left more to be desired.

It picks up at the end of "Order of the Phoenix", then goes into "Half-Blood Prince" all presented from Ginny's point-of-view. Also covers "Deathly Hallows."
