The only episode I'm gonna watch is the very first one but yeah that's kind of what it looks like to me. If people like it, nice, but it just seems COMPUTERS WILL KILL YOU.

I found Brooker absolutely obnoxious before Black Mirror and the show hasn't changed my opinion.

Aww, even the post-singularity lesbians? That ep wasn't bleak at all.

In fact the only one I can think of that was full-blown techno-alarmist and not just darkly humorous was the first ep of the third season.

I adore Charlie Brooker, so I watched the first couple eps thinking the concept would be very cool coming from him. Since he seems (comparatively?) tech-savvy and pro-modernity, etc., I was surprised by exactly what you described--that baby-boomer edginess of "oh god technology is evil/humanity is losing itself/I saw Goody Jobs with the devil." Television isn't the equivalent of watching a head of state fucking a pig; cell phone games aren't sucking our souls out; reality TV isn't a dystopian evil unique to our godless modern age. tl;dr Black Mirror is stupid and I'm bitter about it bc the concept could have been awesome and I love (one of) the creator(s)

I couldn't agree more. And yet its anthology format makes it hard for me to give up on it completely.

*shrug* I don't think pointing out the evils of technology is the same thing as saying all technology is evil, but it's not a fuzzy, feelgood show.

I've only seen one episode, Fifteen Million Merits, but I did find it kind of...meh. I feel like it was too obvious to be as dark as it was. Basically, I just feel like if a show is going to be that grim (and that message-y/moralizing in its grimness) then it had better have the subtility and complexity and general intelligence to pull sich a heavy storyline off. And IMO Fifteen Million Merits, while not bad, ultimately didn't feel like it had intelligent enough writing to keep it grounded. It did way too much beating the audience over the head with what it was saying.

So I guess I basically agree with you, OP? Though for all I know, there are some other episodes I'd like a lot more if I gave them a chance. *shrugs*
