Housewarming registries are fairly common, so putting one together isn't rude. What is rude is including that info in an invitation for a party, or sending it to people who haven't asked. I know that including registry info in wedding, bridal/baby shower etc. invitations is commonplace now, but technically it's an etiquette faux pas. You're supposed to wait until people ask you.
