I don't normally watch historical drama much but I tried it on a whim and watched the whole thing in 24 hours. The acting was phenomenal and the....adaptation choices, I guess, are really compelling - it seems to put a lot of effort into not selecting people to be villains. It just lets them have their historical failures and pettiness and enmities but lets them have their earnest and noble moments too. If you're interested I'd say it's definitely worth a shot.
