Re: What are your thoughts on assisted suicide?
(Anonymous) 2016-11-13 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)I don't see a problem with assisted suicide facilities that are warm, comfortable, and staffed so you can have someone with you in your last moments. I think it is just a logical extension of hospice care, and I do not see the controversy. I mean by all means offer psych advice, and life adjustment advice, but if a person wants to check in and then check out they should be able to do so without fear or being guilt tripped one last time. I know I would probably want the use of one in the next year or so, sadly, but since they do not exist then I'll die alone and cold and in pain, and probably in a way that traumatises others.
There ought to be, in a civilised country, some painless relief of life. At very least it would save the poor people who have to discover my body a shock. I'll leave a letter on the stairs asking whoever comes in to contact the constabulary rather than proceeding up them themselves, but that still leaves the copper or the person who doesn't believe the "Dead person inside" note to suffer as well as me.

(Anonymous) 2016-11-14 02:59 am (UTC)(link)If this is about the UK "prove you're disabled by doing things that exacerbate existing disabilities and also hey we're cutting your benefits some more" bullshit, I'm really sorry.
