07. Maybe that's true in the het relationships you've had, but I beg to differ. And who says that one man is being dominated in a gay relationship, unless you're equating being penetrated with being dominated in a relationship. Fun fact: those are two completely different things. Being on the receiving end of a penis doesn't make you weak or submissive, regardless of gender. It just means that you like being on the receiving end of a penis (It's pretty fun, actually).

The short answer: your attitude is what's wrong with the average slash/yaoi shipper (especially as seen on the Pit).

Okay I lied, re: 43 you will not find any argument with me. Sure, I am hetero and thus find a lot of other lovely Bleachcharacters more attractive than Ichigo, but it still boggles my mind how any rightthinking lady could choose that boy over a real man... like Don Kanonji. Mm-mm.

51. Non canon pairings. The vast majority are het, though there are many yaoi/slash ones, of course.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree there. Granted, it really depends on the fandom -- those with overwhelmingly male casts (see: most shounen anime) are more likely to have noncanon slash pairings as the overwhelming majority, while those with largely female casts are more likely to have femslash -- but still.

We'll have to agree to disagree. If you take the entirety of anime/manga fandoms (which is what I meant), you'll find more non canon het than non canon yaoi.

I think the OP is talking about the heteronormative values that are present in media in general, not domination per se. I don't see why she couldn't choose another dynamic when writing, though.

Also, please don't call it the attitude of "the average slash/yaoi shipper". Besides not being able to find out what "average" is for slash/yaoi shippers, anti-het attitudes are mostly held by smallish, insular groups fanning each others's hate. They're not exactly well regarded among the rest of us.
