I feel like some of the anons in this thread have never seen the aggressiveness that some slash shippers can engage in when someone ships a gay character in a het ship.

I've seen people actually say that shipping a gay male character with a woman will cause gay kids to kill themselves because...apparently fanfiction is how they validate themselves? So if someone writes that kind of pretend ship, they are saying that gay people are invalid.
