Re: School Scandals

I was wondering the same thing - I can't think of a single scandalous thing that happened at my schools prior to college! I had an art teacher in 6th grade who died of AIDS a year or two later (not a scandal) and there were always some girls in high school who were pregnant/had babies (not a scandal) and I think there was at least one gang-related student death but it wasn't on school property and if the killer was ever IDed, it wasn't a fellow student at our school (so, not a scandal).

It wasn't until I was in grad school that something really scandalous happened, when a star on the university basketball team was accused of raping another student and still got to play basketball. There was lots of gossip and a lot of students were upset about it.
