WHAT?!?!

What did I say that was bullying or nasty?

Seriously?

"I can live with a lot of het. but I hope to god that they confirm mercy as gay so people will finally stop shipping her with men. She is practically confirmed gay already, but people still put her with the guys and it grosses me out.

I don't care about junkers, or genji or hanzo. I just need some fucking protection for my sweet dyke mercy."

I'm assuming by some 'fucking protection' you mean the usual ship police tactics of harassment, call out blogs, and trolling. Because lord knows fictional character's purity matters more than real people's feelings.

So infact I didn't say anything bullying or nasty, but you're "assuming" I mean something bullying or nasty.

I see,

And in fact I agree with you, peoples feelings matter more, always will. This isn't about "fictional character's purity" this is about the feelings of people who are marginalized even in their fandom spaces.

And it's their responsibility to manage their own feelings towards passive content. If I don't want to see straight porn, I'm not going to go to porn sites that cater to straight porn. Fandom is not some huge safe space where nothing is posted that might hurt someone somewhere's feefees.

If I write Steve/Bucky I'm not attacking black fans because it's not Steve/Sam and I'm not attacking Asian fans because it's not Steve/Helen Cho and I'm not attacking women and lesbians because it's not Natasha/Pepper and I don't get brownie points because it's featuring an amputee and war veterans. I'm writing something I, as a queer woman, really like. And I'm a real person and my feelings matter more than fictional characters.

Saying you're protecting marginalized fans sound nice, but the fact is there is no content that anyone can produce that won't hurt someone in the world so we have to just suck it up and police our own experiences instead of being all Trumpish about it.
